Happy Christmas G9! Are you using octane? Even though Christmas is the season of generosity but I shall still critic a little :P the face of the girl in the pic is a little weird in terms of the skin colour. The right hand side of her face and skin seems to be much paler than the left o.o Haha and her eyes seems slightly odd. Nevertheless, enjoy this Christmas and don't eat too much turkey!

DeleteYes, G9 bought Octane not too long ago. Some pics in the upcoming comic are also made with Octane's help. It's too bad that the pics cannot be too crowded because otherwise his pc can't handle it, so it has limited use, unfortunately.
It's brilliant for random single pictures though.

Glad to see at least some of the GAIA characters, especially Sophie (my favourite 1...Mimi comes a close second though) I wasn't completely sure it was Sophie but now that I know, Sophie's eyes shld have 2 different iris colours as shown in the close up picture (middle 1) in this page http://g.e-hentai.org/s/428c9005e2/580172-58

Cant wait to see the big diff in her physique and behaviour after corruption(was the plan for a plant 1 if I didn't remember wrongly?)!

DeleteThe face of the girl being paler is due to the decorations in the tree emiting more light it's very good bringing more realism. The eyes are fine, they just have more expression than usual and it looks great !

Even in my opinion, it's not a problem since he at least change the whole manga.
He copy the pose and the art style's, but not the whole manga.

But, we have the most pretty wonder woman manga now!

That said, I wouldn't feel right about plainly copying certain moans. Though these comics are very good sources to refer to if I'm ever unsure again about a certain moan in American English.
That will probably sound weird. After all, moans are universal and the spelling checker will mark it red anyway, no matter how it is written. But still, I'm perfectionist enough that I even worry about the best way to write a certain moan.
I won't promise you that the sex talk in SR0 is the best you have ever laid your eyes on, nor will I promise that I'll directly use some moans from the linked comics, but I'll certainly keep this link as inspiration.

Yeah I checked those comics they're pretty good. The struggle of the heroine is rendered better in the dialogues of the second chapter with Power Girl though.

love the declaration at the end "tears of joy". She is fully conscious of her actions when pledging her allegiance and moreover she enjoys it. Hot

Deleteon anotehr note i love the g9 and h3n comics cause they have actual bad ends which is rare in the CG mind control comics. i had an mccomix sub for a while and canceled it for 2 reasons, 1) almost every single comic ends with the mind control being reverses and the good guys winning, 2) many of them go on waaaaaaaaaaaay too long and the story just gets needlessly complicated. i mean like 20-40 chapters. just too much
(an exception to #1 is Akonkid somtimes but he hasnt topped Vanishing Act yet. Monkey Business was really good but the ending was a little abrupt and didnt have good sex like the end of VA did)
Because they work with their own universe in which the stories take place, most artists need to reverse the mc and reset the story because they need their heroines in the next comic. If everyone stays controlled, they're running out of heroines in no time! ^_^

DeleteAgree with all you guys about the downside of MCComix. My own comic on that site, Astral Boy VS Vultura (http://www.mccomix.com/gallery3/index.php/covers/Cover_N12), will not end happily, and there will be no de-corrupting of the hero's mother and sister.

DeleteTo go back to the previous talk, the best moment in the corruption (and I don't think I'll be opposed on this point) is during the transformation of the heroine (mental and physical). It's the scene that needs to be dragged out. Of course, for this moment to have any strength, we need to know the heroine before, and the corruption must happen and be satisfactory in the end. (We need to see how the heroine acts and think once corrupted).
It's when the heroine is "in the middle" that does it the most, she still has her original mindset but starting to get more depraved (she starts having more sexual thoughts, enjoying pain and things villains do but is both afraid and seduced by it). It needs to be accentuated.
All this needs to be transcripted in the "dialogues" of the sex scenes so I agree it shouldn't be treated lightly.

I believe mc is always a no-go personally. If you can't take that much time for a character just make the corruption in a one time sex scene.
DeleteLike in Fallen Star Inferno when Starlight got corrupted pretty fast when the Devil instilled her with Darkness. Still it wasn't "mc", more "mb" maybe, as her mind was submitted to all evil in one go and so couldn't deal.
There is two kind of corruption, I agree. Long and fast.
One needs to be dragged out as it slowly creeps in until the point of rupture (through a lot of various scenes), the other just goes through the same process just much faster in one scene as the heroine is subjected to the darkness/Sex/(enter corruption process) in a much higher dose.
But neither needs any hypnosis or mind control. Just a "push" to help the spirit to break/fall.

DeleteFor my comic, I prefer mind control as a "phase" or a "tool" to fully corrupt a character, to go from one side to the opposite one.
I don't really like when the whole focus is on a hypno stance, like robotic stance like that.
Yes I do love use one on one scene just as a phase when someone is finally getting caught/ used to do something.
So yes 100% correct, it's more like corruption comics rather than an usual MC.
I think those comics are a good source for dialogues about the struggle of the heroine. Good mix of showing her fear and horror about being corrupted. Also the villain knows his way aroud dirty talk ^^

As a long time reader of Graphic novel, I can only affirm this: You never leave a page/picture without text. It's a must.
DeleteI do not agree with this. An entire page without text is debatable. Depending on the shown scene and the number of pictures on that page, it's sometimes still possible to get the same effect without needing words.
DeleteSaying that seperate pictures without text is a no-go seems like a very unusual and limiting statement. Certainly not each and every single pictures needs text. Don't forget that we're making regular comics and not use a style such as mccomix uses with big single panels that contain some dialogue within the picture and more text together with it outside the picture.
There are always moments in a scene where nothing is said by any character and a picture showing just something "happening" or showing a quick pause or anything like that. You don't need to add text just for the sake of adding text.
Yeah I know I might sound too restricting. I just meant that the text does fix the attention of the reader. Without it he just glosses over it. Assuming there isn't anything of importance. For this reason an entire page without text should be avoided as often as possible.
DeleteOf course a picture without text can fit well in the overall page. I admit. But text tells us what happens. Even in an action scene people talk, mock their adversaries, do puns, scream while punching. When they're alone they talk to themselves, etc.

A page without text is not preferable, but it's certainly not a wasted page if it doesn't have text.
You don't have to worry about the specific examples you mention for single pictures: that's all perfectly covered.
But, as a random example, I purposely left out text in some cases to build tension, just letting the picture do its work, creating a brief pause as if the only thing you could hear is a thumping heartbeat. In those cases, the picture works far better without any text than with "unneeded" text.
Yeah, personally I hope it's the sex pages/money scenes that won't be devoided of dialogues. Otherwise they feel "lifeless" even some grunts/moans would help fill the void.

DeleteThe good news is that I received earlier today a version of the comic that had the name "beta", so the entire comic is finally done (minus cover page, intro, and omake).
Unfortunately, the most important scene of the comic had big problems. I don't want to talk too much about it in the open, as this is something between G9 and myself, but for that particular scene, it's back to the drawing board again. The rest is finished.

DeleteI couldn't replay to Marluigi's comment directly so I had to make this new comment. But I felt it necessary to actually take a moment and defend what he is arguing against. It is not that Marluigi is wrong in his prospective, as I can tell he is really for corruption, but I disagree that MC and Hypnosis has no place in corruption.
ReplyDeleteHypnosis and Mind Control hold an important part in corruption. It is contrast to the progressive way because it offers a power to the villains that does not undermine the character of the victim. The thing that I always hated about corruption being done through gradual slow breaking of the victim is that it is really unrealistic, as much so as you could argue Hypnosis and Mind Control is. Sex is sex, everyone does it and just because a heroine of a story has sex with a villain doesn't mean her entire mind would change. Her values and morals still would be set even with sexual indulgence of even the most deprived. No matter how slow one is corrupted or led down that road, they would not always succumb to the perversion and turn into sluts or villainous women.
The reality is corruption is not something these victims would fall easy too. Sometimes the hypnosis / mind control way is needed to lure them into the power of the villain who is molding them. This is the truth of the corruption, it would not happen unless the victim wanted it to, and even then it takes away from the shock of it happening because it was always there. So it is double edged sword. I think it is not fair to blast hypnotic/mind control methods so fast because of this fact.
Hypnosis and Mind Control are, in all honesty, just the opposite of what you propose is the best way to show corruption. I prefer the left end of the argument, the Hypno/Mind Control side, and you prefer the right, slow Shinra type corruption. We both have our places in comics. I never have aimed to dismiss your prospective and I must defend my own. When it comes down to it, both of our preferences have a place in the fantasy comic realm. Personally the Fallen Star scene you speak of was good, but I also like the hypnotic scenes that exist that do the same thing. I said it once and I will say it a million more times. Either end of argument has points you could argue, so I like to think we can both co-exist. Our preferences are both good and interesting.

DeleteAs a truly peaceful solution, I'd say we have found the middle ground in this comic if we, for simplicity's sake, call both your ideas the "far left" and "far right".
At the very least, whatever happens, happens for a reason. There shouldn't be any part of the scenes that you're looking for with moments where either of you will be like "yeahhh...riiight".
Actually, it's exactly what was causing the problem with the only scene everyone is still waiting for. For some reason, it was changed for the worse. That'll be reversed now and it should lead to one epic scene (= my biased opinion).
