Purple Reign
Here is Purple Reign, our first parody story based on Marvel comics.
Jessica Jones (Jewel) will be facing Zebediah Killgrave (the Purple Man).
Let's see if she'll emerge victorious, or if Killgrave can outsmart our heroine.

ReplyDeleteJessica is so beautiful and sexy, I like the scene when she serves Killgrave with disheveled hair and distracted glowing eyes after being mind controlled. That was so hot! Also Eva is so nice, I love the scene that she wears police uniform while serving Killgrave. I always like the plot that policewomen being mind controlled and enslaved by villains. Also that reporter girl is actually good, but it’s a pity that there’s no MC scene for her.
But anyway, this is definitely the best MC/corruption comic for me this year. I’m so satisfied with it. Thank you so much for your hard work! G9 and MP! You guys are always the best!

ReplyDeleteThe two of you are truly top-notch artist. It's a bit of a pity for me that the scene with the eyes being corrupted is quite brief, but still, this is an amazing work.

Deletethis was overall really good!! i do feel like maybe it was missing a little something though. obviously its meant to be a shorter one-shot at 135 pages but i think could have benefitted from a couple more scenes. maybe not as long as Zerion's 235 pages but in between the two.
ReplyDelete- felt like we knew more about Eva as a character pre-corruption than we did Jessica, so Jessica's corruption wasn't as satisfying. could have used a few more pages of her before suiting up. maybe a flashback of their friendsihp or something
- felt like something was missing at the end. would have been good to see a little more evil Jessica in that costume, ending with the threesome after they returned from killing those cops
overall another good release! just missing a little something that Zerion had

DeleteI think it mainly shows how we have trouble making shorter stories, but also how our readers automatically expect more depth from us because of the very reason that our comics always end up so big.
As you correctly say, a comic like Zerion has a slightly slower pace and takes more time to build the characters, but the tradeoff is 100 additional pages.
If we want to make a comic with, in this case, 135 pages, I feel that we'll always have to sacrifice at least one aspect that we normally give plenty of attention to. Either the personality building or the breaking process or the aftermath will suffer.
For me personally, I look at what the comic did manage to do in 135 pages rather than what it didn't, and I completely accept it if readers feel that something was lacking compared to our other comics.
That just makes me happy to know that there is demand for our usual style of slower storytelling.

ReplyDeletehow long more is it going to take for gaia rangers to be updated. Feels like ages and constantly only short stories like this being released. If G9 is not intending to complete the story, please state so so that I can give up on checking the blog
ReplyDeleteA short answer is I don't know when it'll be released. Do I want to complete the story? Absolutely. Why do I makes short stories instead (well if you consider Daireiger V as short comics too)? Because I want too. Why does it take so long? It's only a two persons part timer team who do these comics as a HOBBY not as another JOB. Me and Mp, no one else. Another reason is because I love the series. I don't want to screw it up with a stupid ending. Yet I still want to find a good story for finishing the long saga. As I said it many times, I'm not a professional story teller. And with every released comic, I tried to be a better one. But I can understand your frustration. I appreciate your love for the series. Unfortunately it won't be released anytime soon.

It's okay. People are allowed to express their disappointment that the series they're looking forward to the most takes so many years to be made. I just see it as something positive that there is still so much demand for our Gaia Rangers.
DeleteIt's just too bad that these posts make it seem like no other comic matters.
As for what is going on in the meantime right now, there is still the wuxia project that G9 is working on as well as a couple of small commissions.
Something else may be in the works too, but I haven't heard yet from G9 if he goes along with a certain small Gaia-related idea I launched.
Will wuxia project be a long story like Daireiger?
