Mimi
Unexpected before, Mimi is the most hard thing to do (normal one), the main problem is her texture.
She has lower resolution (older texture files) than other characters. (tho' it probably won't be used on the comic >_<)
Hopefully this model is close enough to the one you saw before. (hopefully prettier >_<)

ReplyDeleteWell I have to mention this, for you loosing your data is very sad, but I hope you learned to create backups. I guess backups are getting cheaper to do, but its just takes time. With the size of drives and files, but its worth it. Back to my original thought. Little over two years ago there was more hobbyist/artist that put together stories. Some either moved on, or turned to only doing it for sale. But after your hard drive issue, you seems to hit the ground running. Either refreshing your characters or piecing them back together. I enjoy the stories as well as the art you put together. I've tried doing what you do, off and on for few years. camera placement, lighting, and adding all the additional elements is tough. Look forward to your next set.

ReplyDeleteIt's unusual though, that you're suggesting short hair for Sophie. I personally don't think that's her style, and with Emma and Mimi, we already have 2 short haired girls on the team...or what once used to be a team... And speaking of Mimi, the toxic-taylor suggestion reminds me a lot of Mimi's hair in Gaia 5.
Ah well, hopefully we'll have many many future projects so that there'll be plenty of hairstyles to play around with.

It may be possible and/or interesting to give the girls a new hairstyle in their post-corruption states.

It may be possible to work your idea for Mei into Gaia 6. I won't promise anything, but I see an opportunity.
About Mimi: we'll see. At the very least, it's time she gets into action. Not just by beating Vora around, but as a more serious opponent for the Rangers.

So no, it's (unfortunately) no use to delve into that first team render too much. Besides, the decision for a spider for Mimi was made here on this blog as a result of a sort of poll, so that wasn't even known when this pic was made. Emma biting Sophie was a result after endless debating between G9 and myself about the last scene in Gaia 5. At first, we had the idea to have Emma use some sort of spider venom on Sophie.
So your (wonderful) theory falls more in the category "hilarious in hindsight" than the category "carefully planned ahead".
I'm pretty sure that when this pic was made, G9 didn't have the plan to go with a whole animal theme for the corrupted forms. I believe that created itself after the popularity of Emma's snake form. But I'll let G9 answer that himself.
Not much news to tell about the corrupted forms for the remaining Rangers (not that we want to reveal too much anyway). Bird-type and plant-type have been mentioned before many times as potential options.
G9, for some reason, insists on not wanting to do a cat-type though (which is a bloody shame as I think it would fit in perfectly, being both seductive and dangerous at the same time. It would be my personal choice, especially for a black Ranger...who we still happen to have around).
But hey, it leaves room for speculation, and as we're making SR 0 first anyway, there is plenty of time to think about the corrupted forms of the poor girls.
if I remember correctly G9 mentioned before in the comments section in one of the older posts that Mei's corruption theme was going to be a raven and that Sophie was going to be plant corruption. So is the insects for Leona or did G9 change his plan?

Mei i was thinking more at the beginning of the story it would be nice. With the 2 color in here hair and with the her good heart, she seems a bit young and naive perfect for a cat caracter now she more a Black Panther :)

There will likely be more new female characters, but they'll only serve as fillers and have small to non-existing roles. The girl next to Alayeh should be the only new female character with a big role.

DeleteUnfortunately not all of the products compatible with my model, I still use V4.2 instead of genesis or genesis 2.
And also some of the hair you mentioned are hair materials not models, so I should buy both the models and the materials (hair colors, texture)...and yes...it's quite expensive.
But, I'll see if those hair really worthed (can be used for more than one scene only).

The answer is no. I think these pages belonged to "project Angels" that G9 played around with for a short while, but never saw the light of day.

ReplyDeleteShe looks good. Good enough like her Gaia 5 counterpart, I'd say. There have always been small changes in their looks between each issue, so it's not a disaster if they don't look 100% alike.
From the 3 current models, I still think Mei's face is the only one that needs a little work. She looks hot, but this Mei is a bit too mature and assertive looking.
Oh, and people, Emma ftw! No discussion possible, okay? >_<

About Leona, thanks for the details, I'll try to make her look like that (If I don't forget how to make her like that >_<)
What made the Gaia 5 Leona so special was that never-changing unimpressed look she had in her eyes. Even though her eyes were very pretty and noticable, her gaze had something mysterious. At the very least, her eyes didn't show as much emotion as the eyes of her human colleagues.
DeleteSo yes, that special gaze should definitely return in Gaia 6, although I don't see why the current model's eyes wouldn't be able to produce the same effect.
But regardless, if we all have our own favorites, we can all provide good feedback to get each of our respective fav girls back to how they should look.
And thus, if the big boss has the guts to make Emma look ugly, the big boss can expect a small...torrent of angry emails! >_<

I think it's very likely she won't wear that dress in the comic. Gaia 5 ended with the getting captured. They're probably not given time to pack their suitcases and bring their finest dresses with them. ^^
DeleteDon't look into this too much. G9 simply wants to show us the current remade models of the girls. It's very rude to them to show them completely nude so they've simply been given something random to wear. It's a nice excuse to slip Sophie into some very feminine clothing as that's not what she normally wears.
about leona, can you make in the future that some more hair fall in her face on the left and right sides on her face it looks a bit strange! i know it is the hairstyle but 5 or 6 more hair strand will make same miracle on her face.

ReplyDeleteI just wanted to remark that in your comics the sex scenes have become less and less present as for the corruption scenes : (
Not only in proportion but also in simple quantity. And while a good story is better than a bad one because the characters become more real that way, we still come on this site for the erotic part of the comic.
Also, if I may, I'd like to add that it would be better in the sex scenes or "money scenes" if the female character/the victim talked a bit more.
If they're only giggling it's kind of boring (and it also looks "childish", some moaning might be better) . Them talking could also add a bit more information about what they're feeling while being corrupted or having sex and the pages would feel less empty.
Here you go, hope you don't take my critic/advices too harshly

I guess my problem is that there isn't enough sex scenes that truly matter.
ReplyDeleteIn filthy fantasy it was mostly some light hypnosis with Tifa "out of it" so I didn't really count it in. The same for Gaia 5 : Lucian isn't really having sex with the girls but some zombie version of them. He magically make them like it by using some dark energy. I feels too easy, rushed.
I know it's hard to understand but it feels like the erotic part is forgotten and that it's just an excuse to explain Lucian's plan or this or that part of the story.
The last comic I really enjoyed from G9 was Gaia 2 because the sex scenes with Emma were more elaborate with a peek into what she felt.
I'll conclude by saying that the story might be getting better and that it allows us to know more about the characters and care more about them but the sex scenes and corruption scenes feel rushed. More hypnosis, less "mind break" or seduction. I prefered the slow transformation of white ranger (nowadays the evil queen) in shadow rangers. It felt more like a real corruption. By real I mean that I prefer when the moral compass of the heroine is changed because of the various experiences she is put through by the villain and also by her growing attraction to him.
Finally I'll say that the story seems to be less and less character based and too much plot based and that it's a bad idea if it's a story supposed to focus on the transformation of its characters.
Hope you better understand what I mean now and that it helps :)
It certainly helps to understand the points you're trying to make better, however I can't find myself agreeing with the examples you mention.
DeleteFirst of all, let's keep using the Gaia story as the example because that's what you seem to be doing too (by mentioning "the story").
"It's less and less character based"?? Gaia 5 had more focus on the characters than ever before. Only thing it didn't have was a new character "arc". That was a very intended choice because we wanted the story to be more dynamic. Character arcs are extremely predictable ("Let's see who the story is focusing on now... Her? Okay, so it's going to be her turn next!") and tend to leave the characters not yet involved out of the spotlight, so we're only getting to know them when it has purpose.
I can see that being enough for a standard fare 18+ comic, so the call for a character arc format is defendable, however we're trying to shoot for more. I'd rather speak of "Gaia 2" and "Gaia 3" than of "Emma 2" and "Mimi 1" respectively.
Let me ask you, before Gaia 5, what did we know about Sophie? Or about team leader Leona (not counting the dream in Gaia4)?
So yeah, at the very least I'll defend the choice of going for more plot as opposed to another character arc.
Another point you make is about the sex scenes missing an erotic part. I'm not the sexpert on the team, so G9 will have to answer this. I can see the point you're making however. On the other hand, Emma was just as "out of it" as Tifa. Both had their minds being twisted into liking what happened to them and both were acting on their own accord, so there shouldn't be a difference between counting Emma in, while counting Tifa out. And what about Mimi's scenes with Vora? That was even more of her own will!
Your last point is about the nature corruption scenes and tf scenes and is a more common point of debate here. The only answer to that is that we keep mixing it up. It becomes boring and predictable if we tackled all the scenes exactly like what happened to Lisa, you'll have to agree.
Don't worry, the story is not yet over. There is more to come.
And btw, because I wasn't involved in Shadow Rangers, I can look at it with the viewpoint of an unbiased reader, just like everyone else: I actually think the Lisa scene was rushed beyond belief. There was no struggle at all: she basically had already given up the moment the base was invaded. For someone who was supposed to be the leader, she had the weakest role in the story by far!
There. Plenty of ammo for continued discussion. G9, stop hiding and give us your two cents.

On some reason, I totally agree with your critics, I'm realizing those issue too, sometime me and mp has been too focus on the storyline, and when it comes to 18+ scenes, those become my lazy point.
It was put just as a "money scenes" not something "important money scenes" just like the old comics.
It was vice versa, before the story was abandoned to make a good sex scenes, and now the sex scenes was "abandoned" to make a good story line.

I agree that the corruptions seemed a bit quick in FF. I would have liked to have seen an explanation for Tifa being out of it, or at least a quick page that shows her going off with a stranger, and then her being out of it the next time we see her. Also, I didn't fully understand why if she was already under some kind of spell why she needed to be corrupted again. I'm not complaining, but it just didn't make a ton of sense to me and seemed to take away from her corruption, although I do want to say I enjoyed it very much. It just would have been more satisfying if we could have seen a greater fall/change in her behavior and personality. My favorite corruptions, and this is just me, are the ones where the person can't seem to 'shake off' what is happening to them. Little by little you seem them revert to behaviors and decisions they normally would never engage in or in the scenario that you set up it would have been helpful to have drawn the process out just a bit more. Again, I loved it. These are just my 2 cents in what I look for. (and really, who am I? to critique your work). Keep it up, I am looking forward to your upcoming updates. I can't complain at all about how you handled Gaia 5. I thought it was spot on.
DeleteThe idea was that Tifa would need some extra dark magical powers that Cloud doesn't know about to catch him by surprise. The Fallen Star materia does a lot, but it doesn't make her fight better! Instead it can only cause unintended...distractions.
DeleteThe reason this final part of the plot could cause confusion for even a longtime fan such as you is the very reason this part was kept short: it didn't completely fit into the story.
It was a choice to make the Tifa comic more mainstream compared to the comics we usually make.
The comic was (this time) more aimed to the "general" public, than it was aimed to the corruption-fetishists. This makes it very understandable that many people here on the blog thought the corruption was too short and rushed.
Even so, adding more "specific-fetish-only" pages would disrupt the balance of an otherwise relatively mainstream 18+ comic, so I think it was the right choice (this time).
The whole corruption scene could in theory even have been left out of the comic (again: this time), but we wanted to it to have at least some "trademark" scene, especially because our regulars would've been left with even less fetish material otherwise.

So indeed, that's all to it. There is no reason to make everyone wait twice as long and then release 2 comics at once. They'll only steal each other's spotlight that way.
Just don't expect that we can work on both projects simultaneously as well as the guy from H3Ncomics can. The real focus lies on SR0 first and the Gaia 6 work in the meantime will likely be little more than tinkering with some models and backgrounds.

DeleteIn this particular case that's not really fair to MS because the Killer Instinct franchise was of course completely dead and forgotten to begin with, after Killer Instinct Gold had already failed to live up the expectations after the SNES success.
DeleteAnd you can't kill something that's already dead (let's not go into an undead discussion), so the only thing MS does is attempting to revive a series. If it turns out it doesn't work out, I don't feel they "ruined" the series any more than what had already been done.
Forgotten? Dead? Hardly. Rare made a lot of good games to the N64 and earlyer that are classics today. Microsoft wasnt good for Rare thats for sure. If they fail with killer instinct, it will be another franchise they definetly destroys and probably kills of permanently. Nintendo shouldn't have let Rare slip away from them. They for sure could have had good use for Rare, in the situation they are in now. It dosn't matter. It will be a ps4 for me and hopefully a upgraded pc.

They afraid Rare could westernized most of the Nintendo games. Heck, even Miyamoto said that Donkey Kong Country is a bad game...seriously? In some way, it was even better than Mario's games. And when N64 era came, Rare games were so dominant after classic Nintendo games. 007, ban zoo, killer instinct, perfect dark, etc.... And Nintendo just wasted them all.

DeleteIt reminds me of a post I made about a teaser pic for Yoru no Majin 1 where I compared it to a plastic model: especially the bone parts of her outfit aren't looking very real and convincing.
I can do nothing but agree Mp. The bones, looks as if they were made out of plastic and i don't really feel this is in line with the kind of outfits we have seen before. Yes, i admit, i really loved the gothic outfits in the shadowranger series so, i am biased. But this feels more like a fallenstar outfit then dark emperor taste of fashion. But it's up to G9 what he likes. :)

I feel that the current corrupted Mimi is unsuitable due to firstly her outfit: Bones are too hardcore for Mimi I feel her previous outfit with dark feathers and the brilliant neckpiece was more appropriate as it gives a softer touch to her character while bones are a little over the top perhaps too aggressive? In fact I think even the old Mimi perhaps could be improved if you find an outfit that has some cobwebs element? But I feel the old corrupted Mimi wins hands down though :P
Second, the link I gave for the bottom left frame I really liked that photo due to the colour scheme. The current corrupted Mimi is more of scarlet/blood red which again I feel is overly strong whereas in the past from hair to eyeshadow to the eye colour it was more of orange red which gives it a milder touch and more seductive elements to it :D But this is just a personal thought though however I feel that you have done an awesome job for GAIA 5 and it is quite sorrowful that you lost your data D: was looking forward to seeing pretty and seductive Mimi again haha hope you can improve on the current one! Good luck!

that's a great headpiece by the way it goes well with her spider ear rings in GAIA 5(which is absent in this photo) I forgot to mention it haha perhaps the Dark Emperor can "bestow" it upon her after she completes her mission! But there is something that feels a little different other than the looks but the "feel" of corrupted Mimi seems lacking because in GAIA 5 u can feel her anger for being abandoned by her GAIA teammates to glee that the dark emperor "helped" her and that's was I find most attractive about her its the emotions conveyed through her eyes :P but Mimi here looks a little bit cold though :D (Perhaps it's Mp and ur fault that Mimi in Gaia 5 looks so amazing!!! hahaha)

I didn't like the feather on the first costume. It looked a bit cheap because well, her theme is "spider" not bird. I thought it strange as soon as I saw it.

Why not try and combine the ideas? Why should these ladies be restricted to one outfit? Women and clothes....I mean, come on! Even the Dark Emperor has a different throne for each day of the week.
DeleteSo I see no reason to faithfully reproduce every detail of her previous outfit.
But I do agree with everyone who says that the outfit in the above sample picture is too hardcore compared to what your girls usually get to wear. It's a nice creative outfit, sure, but I don't feel it belongs in this comic, and indeed has more of a place in the Fallen Star. Though that doesn't mean that no single part of this outfit can be used.
That, and I really liked the earrings she had in Gaia 5!

DeleteI mean it's a coruption comic, even if there must be some extremes into wich it's a no go, (pedophily etc) making a costume too hardcore shouldn't be a concern. Especially if it's a concept coming from the author himself. Are you responsible Mpgrey for the tuned down comics G9 delivered us lately ? Villains acting silliers, giggling heroines ... It just looks more and more like a bad episode from power rangers and less like a game of throne type of story (I use this two examples for explainatory purpose only. I know the two shows aren't about the same thing).
It's like G9 backed off when Shinra's work started to become the reference for this type of "dark" story. But right now G9's is just too silly for me, sorry.

You'd be surprised how little I have to do with the general direction of the story.
All you're seeing is G9 developing his skills to better make the stories he wants to make.
There is certainly a huge difference in atmosphere between the Shadow Rangers series and the current stories, I'll immediately agree with you on that. And there is also a difference between what we make and what Shinra makes. Though the type of story is pretty much the same, there is no denying that Shinra uses much darker themes.
It's all a matter of taste. It's very possible you're looking for the dark hardcore stuff that Shinra makes, so then you're likely better off with his comics.
With "too hardcore", I obviously didn't mean that I'm still trembling with fear from looking at the picture alone in the dark, I meant that is is too hardcore compared to all other outfits and themes featured in the Gaia story. I'm not saying that outfit doesn't suit a corrupted girl, I'm saying it doesn't suit corrupted Mimi.
Yes, it's a concept from the artist himself, sure. The same artist who forgot about the shading in the hair, details in the eyes, and about adding the earrings she was wearing before. In short: an artist who proudly presents his newest render he just made and asks for feedback to polish up the model even more and help adding the details he forgot about.
Only thing I can't get back to you about is your statement that everything has become silly. That's your opinion, I can't change anything about that.
Though I do wonder what exactly you mean with silly villains and giggling heroines (examples please). It seems you don't like the characters becoming more rounded and getting more personality. Do you seriously want to go back to the chapters where the Rangers just called each other by their color?
You'll probably respond by asking how much of a coincidence it is that the atmosphere in the comics changed from the moment I started helping out. In that case, let me already answer you that I'm helping G9 make the comics WE want to make; NOT the comics only I want to make. I can't stress that enough.

In fact I prefer GAIA rangers to SR not only due to improvements in graphics and of course the girls but also due to the more attractive corruption process to form sexier transformed villainess! I mean if you had the most basic form of comprehension your mind shld tell you that you are better off reading some other comics that focuses on gore and corruption instead of the brilliant transformation, brainwash and mind control that G9 portrays vividly onto your screen. (P.S: Although sometimes it mind be frustrating for the long wait of a comic, which even I find sometimes but if you are a true lover of G9's comics you will find that Gaia rangers is always a comic that justifies the wait by providing a fulfilling fruit of labour)
@Anonymous1 I'll have to cut in here too, since i was the one who first pointed out that the outfit in question wasn't in a style that, for me, felt right. It's allways up to G9, to do the story he envisions, of course.
DeleteThe difference between the SR series and the GAIA, isn't a down "tuned" story. The differenc is, due to G9 trying to add more background and deep to the story and obviously, trying to avoid using the same way to do the mind breaking. I prefered the ways of breaking in SR, for different reasons, one of them being that the breaking took time. And the stronger the ranger, the longer time it took. I loved the breaking of Jane and wished it was even more detailed and drawn out. But there is always limits to the length of the story.
I don't agree that GAIA, isn't dark. There is darkness there alright. In some parts it's even more dark than SR.
What's making GAIA feel so different, is that G9 is trying harder to get a deeper story and adding more personal traits to each one of the different characters. Something i think is positive.
G9:s stories are different from that of Shinras, in this i agree. That is something positive as well. They have their different styles and i hope, that they don't try to be like the other one. If you like Shinras stories more, than clearly, that type of story is for you.
@Anonymous2 I have to disagree that the breaking would be better in GAIA. That's my big issue with GAIA, the breaking haven't been as good like the ones in SR. But i understand that G9 is trying to come up with new ways and i like that he is trying. And judging by your opinion, he is successful in he's attempt at doing so. The long waiting between every part is painfull alright. Maybe G9 should make more but shorter parts? Problem is that then many would complain that there would be parts without sex, corruption or mind breaking.
Okay I didn't mean to be agressive G9, Mpgrey. I was just being frank and was confused by the timing. Arrival of mpgrey in the same time as the change of atmosphere of G9comics.

It can be quick if you wish to make it quick but I preferred when the storry was more inclined toward Mind Break and/or seduction and less Hypnosis oriented.
The hypnosis feels really rushed, no talking, no "character development" and I think that it's when the heroine is corrupted that we learn the most about them. Paradoxical isn't it ?
@Anonymous Well, the FF was a short story so there isn't much room for an drawn out turning. You need to, first set up the story rather quick, the capture, turning/mind control and then the sex. There isn't that much space for more.
DeleteBut yes i can, to some extent, agree that the hypnosis in GAIA is over rather quickly. But then again, i feel that GAIA is where G9 started to really, up the story. That can explain why it feels uneven through the story. And since G9 is trying new ways for the breaking procedure i can understand that he dosen't use machines like in SR. It grows old fast and people have complained about that before. G9 is experimenting, and lets face it, he can't please every one of us every time.
I liked SR, a lot and hope the remake will be all that SR was and more. I like some parts in GAIA to and really hate other things. The turning through drugged cigarette most of all. Just like the outfitt, (yup back to that again) it didnt fitt with how the story looked so far. The drug bit felt so out of place. But at the same time it works. It's Vora who uses that tactic. He is a weak character, so he use the methods he can. It would have been way cooler though if it was the smoke in combination with magic that did the hypnotism.
I didn't like the blank slate character, so i appreciate the development of characters. I like Vora, because i hate him i want him do die. He is the JarJar of this universe and JarJar must die.
You don't like some of the giggley stuff. Well the emperor in SR giggled. I prefer the emperor know i GAIA. As long as it is the right character that does the giggel i'm ok.

@Mp Well the problem, and yes this is of course just my opinion, but the cigarette shouldn't have been there at all. Not in that way. Poor Mimi looks, when she is on her bed dressed in pink with a cigg i her mouth, like some American trailer trash.
DeleteIt's so sad to see such a well rendered and good lokking character just turn into that, it falls flat. And again yes it's in my eyes she lookes like that. I know that G9 did it to please people with a fetisch for smoking women. Hence my point that G9 can't please all of our tastes. At least not at the same time. When he pleases some of us, he turn others off.
And i saw poor Shinra tried to use a cigarette to and for him it turned into a big lipped aligator moment. It came from nowhere, without an explonation, and the scene just became, again at least for me, wierd.
I agree both times the cigarettes were a bit weird like they were dropped like that without any kind of explaination. But it's over so let's not dwell on it : )

It is simply impossible and it will never end well. Better to let G9 make the story he envisions and wants to do and support him, on top of that give him contructive criticism.

Wise words. This will always remain a problem. With the type of structure of the Rangers comics being what it is, we cannot dodge this problem: 5 heroines as the obvious main characters, readers will pick one as their favorite and hope that their favorite gets matched with their favorite type and speed of corruption.
DeleteIt must suck for any fan to see that out of all the characters to choose from, it just had to be "your" girl that, of course, got your least favorite treatment! Even more if you take into account how long you had to wait for it to happen.
But even so, everyone will hopefully understand that we cannot really help this. If 2 people like the same girl but have opposing preferences when it comes to corruption types, at least one of them will end up dissatisfied.
I just hope that, for those people, we can make it up with the rest of the story.

Some are negative, varying from "meh" to very negative, but I'd say that all of those posts too are well written and constructed. We're open to discussion, yes please! The only thing we ask for is a little respect in the posts, no matter how negative they are.
But now that I'm writing this, it almost looks as if I have certain posts in mind as a reason for writing this: not the case.
Everyone, be sure to keep being honest as you have hopefully all been doing so far. We won't hold it against you if you're bashing what we're doing. Just keep in mind that you're not the only person the comic was made for...unless you're a filthy rich commissioner! >_<

DeletePGS is the sad victim of having too many projects running at the same time. For some reason, something else keeps on appearing on the agenda every single time, pushing the poor PGS back.
But rest assured: we definitely will continue the story. There has never been any doubt about that.
Maybe after Gaia 6, maybe not... It's very difficult to predict when we have time and not choose something else instead AGAIN. :/
If we are talking about propositions and/or ideas to "better" G9's comics, could I propose "some personnalized corruptions" ? I'd love to see a corruption targeting a heroine's beliefs and weakspots. It'd be more "mind break" than mind control but after all it's more interresting to see the evolution of the mind than to have her out of it.
ReplyDeleteAlso will we see some "coupling" between "villains" ? It would be a better corruption, I think, if it was a different guy than the emperor doing the work and then making the heroine "his". It's kind of disapointing when the emperor "finish the deal" because it gets less personnal, like : "another ranger ? Ok let's do it" and it gives the feeling anybody could have corrupted her and that anything before isn't worth taking into account.

ReplyDeleteNo, Gaia 6 still hasn't been made. It will be made after the next (and last) chapter of Shadow Ranger Zero has been made.
DeleteThe Shadow Ranger Zero story contains some important story elements for the Gaia story and these needed to be told first. Otherwise, Gaia 6 would have become one big flashback chapter.
But when SR0 is done, we go right back to Gaia!
If you specifically want to see Leona, btw, she appears in SR0-2, and she will have an important role in SR0-3.
