Hi all...
About a few days ago, my GPU used for rendering was overheated, and it seems it was broken.
So I went to the service center and they can't say if I can get the replacement yet, they need to do some checking first and blabla... (I still get the warranty tho')
But looking at the condition, they say if I didn't get the replacement, they don't think it can be repaired.
If I can't get the replacement, I planned to change the GPU to the new one, the problem is, the newest generation GPU (GTX 1080 and the new Titan X) are not compatible with the software I use now (yet).
Some say it'll be compatible in August, so I need to wait till then.
The good part is, it's not like disaster a few years ago that I lost all my work.
Maybe the comic will be delayed for a few weeks.
I tried to rendering with my available GPU, what it was so limited that I can't render some of the scenes I prepared.
So sorry for this...

I only trust her when something weird happened (better than those new Ghostbusters, haha, trust me!)

I don't know the process for making the series but perhaps while the GPU is down you could do the dialogue first so that you won't have to work on it later?
ReplyDeleteYa I think G9 could sent the dialogue to mp because to save time at end. Every time the sending to and fro between them take quite a bit of time which delays the comic
DeleteThat's not how it works, unfortunately...not with us at least.
DeleteWe don't work with a fully written script in advance. We merely have a few general directions for the story, and the rest is filled in on the go and on the spot. We get ideas for scenes based off other scenes we just made. Then we pursue the story in that direction, or we choose to go in a different direction, scrapping the previous earlier scene and devising a whole new build up.
It's a continuous process of modelling the story.
My text job comes far later in the process, only when we are certain that particular scenes are definite keepers. And even then it's partly just fixing text and partly rewriting and reimagining of the text.
Wait so the plot is not even out yet? I thought the whole chapter would be planned out before starting on the chapter itself

The dearth of corruption comics by G9 and Shinra during this lull period is deadly. Esp after the fatal teaser posted by G9 LOL
DeleteYes, sadly we always lose a lot of readers during these lull periods. I suppose it's natural selection. It's a harsh world, and only the most patient of readers survive.

ReplyDeleteyou might wanna think about a new computer case and some new 120/140mm fans as well if overheating is an issue. It's a cheep investment to protect your expensive GPU.

I use a rather big case already (an e-atx case actually).
Hope this time is okay >_<
