Hello, first time commenter here. It was a nice comic. Maybe the corruption was just too fast though. No real mind break like in the first Shadow Rangers comics.
Hey! Welcome to the blog. Thank you for your comment. It's actually not a "mind break" comic. It's a pure mind control comic, unlike Shadow Rangers/Gaia which focus on the process to make a character goes from good to bad, it's more try to show how powerful the villain to "snap" hero/ine from good to bad, and toys with her/them. So, there's a little /almost no corruption process shown here.
Will you ever go for a more darker corruption? i released all your corruptions are border line mind break with minimal transformations. maybe one full transformation just for the mix of character pool. All your characters share almost the same gothic theme and there are no really unique outfits to make your characters that outstanding. Your artwork is great but i believe your content has potential to be greater.
No offense here, but i think if you have a broader variety you can appeal to more.
I am kind of confused by darker corruption. Like a more villain-ish kind of outfit? We have it in this one. Is there a better description you can provide to help us understand?
Yes, G9, you are spot on :). This wasn't mind break. This was spell/power hypnosis. It goes back to the old days of mind control and hypnosis. It is not so much seeing them give up and change, but more of a abrupt cleaning of who they were and restructure of themselves to the master's own image.
Darker corruption as in more visual transformations and not just eye color and the outfits, more to the fantasy side, horns, skin color change etc, the limitations of parodies is that you cant really change the outfit that much if not it will look like a different character. The outfits in this comic are almost just recolors of their original outfits. What i can think of that would be a good example would be shinra's comics, he has a range of transformations, demons, humans, monsters, etc and a few different kinds of outfits for his characters.
You hit the nail on the head with your comparison to Shinra. The more extreme transformations and darker, demonic themes are indeed the main elements that make our comics differ from Shinra's comics. There is a simple reason for that: G9 doesn't really like those darker elements and prefers to stay in his comfort zone by making what he wants to make.
In the case of this particular comic, the transformations are lighter than even by our normal standards. Two reasons for this: -As you say, the characters should still look like their recognizable selves. -It was a specific intention to go a minimalist way and make them look hot and evil with only minor changes.
It could very well be true that we'd appeal to more readers by going for much darker and more extreme themes, but I'm sure you understand that it's much more important to keep making what he wants to make and enjoys making.
By the way I'd love G9 style, his comics focus more in corrupting the mind and soul, and I think thats what makes a true corruption or Netorare story. Sometimes there are some minor changes in the chracters but the most beautiful part of it it's twisting the very core of their soul and shaping it into a new one... I'd just love that XD

I've noticed something strange tho'... on page 39 is Chun Li draining out all of Shao Khan energy? Looks like he has lost all of his muscles :P
I was obviously joking but I have a real question... When I look at the very last pic (95) the quality is really above all other picture. Why does all the other ones did not get the same treatment? Octane limitation? Or you find some new settings on the very last pic you were rendering?
PS: I really liked the corrupted version of Mai and Chun Li. For those who were saying that a real corruption needs some physical transformation, and don't get me wrong I'm a big fan of TF, here's the proof that it's not always the case ;)
Ouch! Yes, you are right, there's something wrong with Shao Khan on that page >_< About the last page, that's something that I still try to learn about Octane render. The last page is a model rendered without any "disturbance" i.e indoor shoot or even plane. It's just one model (shao khan) and bam! rendered using HDR environment (something like uber environment in Daz) The result, all the lighting hit the model without any obstruction, so the render come really good (and fast) When I tried the same thing with more models (indoor, other characters) this method don't work. Not as good as a single object. I tried to play with ISO, Ambience Occlusion Distance (Aodist) but the result is still different. And, the problem is, there's a limit about how many light I can put in the scene, or else, it render way way too slow. Or even worse, it crashed (yup it's Octane BAD BAD GLITCH).
The corrpted version came from Dark Hypnotic himself who don't like drastic physical transformation. So.. kudos to him ^_^
i generally like to see a bit more work go into the mind control or corruption but i understand that was kind of the point with this one. and it would have been cool to see all of his girls around his cock at the very last page but that's minor

This is a commissioned comic, so unless dark hypnotic commissions g9 again hopefully there wont be another smoking scene, personally the smoking scenes look kinda out of place and forced. It gave a feel like they had to smoke regardless of situation just to appeal, especially the scenes where they had to be reminded to keep smoking it just felt awkward. However, there were some scenes where it went really well and even appealed to me, a person that is not fond of smoking, the middle picture of page 84 and top picture of page 86.
It won't happen indeed because it's not our own fetish either. Just like you say, we too respect other people's kinks and fetishes, and there is nothing wrong with giving something different a try every once in a while in a comic.
Dark Hypnotic is a good and respected friend with very interesting ideas, but he wasn't able to convert us to the smoking fetish cult. ;P
There are some reasons why this Rangers saga took so long compared to other comics. First, Rangers are my main comic. It's something special for me, it's my first comic, and I do really want to make it better and better. I want to deliver it at a maximum quality I can. Second reason is, now the Ranger saga is on it's most important section on it's storyline. Since it's a long connected series, it's much much harder to make, since we can't do some stupid mistakes like a paradox, or something that make the next series become dull/not interesting. We need to maintain so readers (like you ^_^) want to read the next series. And it takes long long times just for story research, reading the series back and forward, make sure the story is flowing better. And also now it's almost the ending which is crucial, and SR:0 become the key where this Saga started. It gave the base for the whole story line, and Gaia 6/7 will become the end for the saga. So, you can imagine how hard it is... >_< If I just want to make this series like I did in original SR, it's easy, just corrupt the rest girls, Leona, Mei, Sophie, put lots of money scenes, and BAM! Show them all together with Dark Emperor, the end. But I don't want to do that. I want to make the story at least has more interesting aspect rather than that. Plus like I said before again and again, now, I have a job, mpgrey has a job too, we have real life to live too, so time is more llimited, that's why we put more and more comics like Violet, Crypt Raiders between major release Rangers comics. Hope you can understand. We ARE still working on Rangers series, right now it's almost 100 pages long and it's not even 50% from the whole thing. Maybe around 30% now.
I understand but I think that money scenes are important too. You shouldn't look down on it. The difficulty is to make them really great. But without the money scenes your comic wouldn't be different than other non-corruption comics. What I liked in the first SR was how well done the money scenes were (corruption, sex...). There was a real fighting of the heroine and we learned to care about their transformatioon. I think it's good NOT to focus on too many characters at the same time.
No, I don't say money scenes are not important, our comics are basically a hentai/porn comics, or I would prefer erotica. More than 50% are money scenes, if I don't think money scenes are important, then G9MP are not H-Comic anymore, and that's not what I meant. I actually try to make the money scenes experience become better by better story build up, something that will make the reader feel that money scenes are make sense, believable and also erotic. Not just a non-sense money scenes where A meet B, and BAM! What's the different between Rangers's Saga and other comic is the story, right? And how those girls rangers, one by one getting corrupted is the basic story that build the money scenes. Now I just want the story to be better, not boring but still maintain about our focus, mind break, corruption, how good girls gone bad, and why that's happening.
About too many characters, I admit it, we have too much characters, that's what I will remember when making another saga.
So, yes we are not thinking that money scenes are not important.
I always wanted to see Mai smoking naked, I checked only a few images and it's gonna be awesome, for me is super fine if they're going to smoke throughout all the comic I hope dark hypnotic will commission more with the smoking fetish, yeeeeaaah :)
I'm very enthousiastic too. It looks stylish and got rid of a few unused features. The direct links at the top to each seperate issue are an amazingly useful addition. The donation button has made its glorious return. And the related topic links are in color again! \o/
I do see some (minor) downsides:
-On the homepage, when highlighting a topic, you cannot see anymore how many posts there are, so you cannot tell if there has been activity or not.
-Because of the smaller windows for posts, bigger posts look like cluttered walls of letters.
-A lot of the features are put at the very bottom of the page, pretty much out of sight, such as the links to pixiv and Shinra's blog, the lists of tags and archived posts, and the hot topics.
I'd say there is still a little tinkering to be done before we have what we want.
is the next comic that we see SHADOW RANGERS ZERO ? and how long must we wait? 2 months or 3 ? or maybe longer ? I was a little bit sad:( that you change Chan li and Mai not a little bit more in their style ! Ok it is a big recognition value ! But I think it would be nice to say Chun li and Mai in the end with open Hair or short hair :) ! Also to see Sakura and the other girl also in a red uniform and as Soldarten would be nice :) Baybe you could us show us a some new Picture as update in the future ;)

Don't worry. You misunderstood what G9 was saying. You can find a short alternate ending (the first draft actually) of the comic somewhere on this blog, and this ending features ChunLi and Mai with more "drastic changes" (thus exactly what you are looking for, and that is what G9 is referring to).
