Megan, with Octane
Another Octane render, with Megan as the model.
I still don't find a way to use the skin shader, so the sub surface skin on her still looks "fake".
But at least now I can play with Bloom effect, ISO, etc, to play with the lighting brightness.
It looks good compare to the standard 3D delight render.
Anyone know how to use skin shader on octane without changing the texture?
With so much light, it's hard to tell if the skin looks fake or not, so there you have your solution: just go wild with the light! ;P

Basically everytime Megan's eyes turned to that yellow-ish color and got those veins, that's a signal to the reader that she was experiencing something that wasn't really there. The exception is the first illusion in the lab where she is able to recognize on her own that it's all a dream.
DeleteIt's all in her head at first and that is the reason why the scanners couldn't find any infection.
The big climax scene in Megan's room is the first time that she has real physical contact with the parasite, even though Megan believes it's just another illusion. (Or actually rationalizes what she sees and feels as yet another illusion. I tried to highlight that by making her confirm to herself so often that "it's just an illusion".)
Poor Tia is dead, yes.

Yes, the parasite made its first real physical appearance in the base on page 172. Everything before that all happened in Megan's mind.
DeleteThe sex scene with Lin and Al was real though. Megan tried to ignore them, but lost that battle because the parasite was talking to her in her mind again, hence the eyes on page 101. This is an interaction that the reader doesn't get to see, similar to what happens on page 136.
At some points, we wanted to tell the story from other points of view. We follow Megan's thoughts most of the time so we thought it would be interesting to sometimes look at the situation from a third person's perspective.
All names you mention should make their appearance in the next chapter, yes.
I know I was like the first person whinging about not being there for the release,
ReplyDeleteand here I come, last one among the last, to write my review about that brand
new piece of G9 artwork.
Don't see it as an insult, but I only had the time to read the chapter in one go,
a few days ago and it took me another few days to gather my thoughts around it
and write a proper review rather than a few words...You guys worked hard for more
than 6 months to deliver that chapter, I think you deserve that people take the
time to give their honest opinion.
And now people will think, no wonder why you take that much time to release your
chapters, Shinra, if it ever takes you a week to gather your thoughts >_<
Enough blabla, and let's start with the good things.
As always, you guys set the bar higher and higher with each new release,
and this one makes no exception. A better yet , the bar has been place that high,
that you will have to take the ranger intergalactic spaceship to overtake your
own new standards, and deliver something even better for the second part.
You decided to dig a lot more into the story, and it pays off very well.
you took the time and room to build most of the characters, making them a lot
more realistic.
All in All, the story, the character building and even the pace were magistrally
orchestred. Well done guys ! It was very enjoyable to read.
Bonus point for the humor, Mp, some lines were very funny ^^
Something else I'd like to stress, is the mind play with Megan all along the comic.
Story-wise, It's very well developed and feels very erotic (specially the scene in the shower ^^).
And as usually, G9 SFX are out of this world !
Let's now switch to "less good" things. Bah yes, I had to dig hard to find something
negative about this comic, But that would not be an objective review if there were none
I think one of the most disturbing things, was the text way too small.
I have a big screen but still had to zoom to 300% on each and every pic to be able
to read bubbles >_<
Another thing was, Damn G9, those male ranger battlesuit were too effeminate.
My whole childhood built on Bioman and power Rangers is falling apart ahahahah ;-)
And about you Mp, I've been very disappointed...I've found at least 2 missing commas...
that's unacceptable you grammar guru Aaahahahah ;-)

On a more personal basis, somebody was mentioning that the random sex scenes were kind
of spoiling the quality of the comic but I have to say that I disagree.
Although it's true that they're unnecessary story-wise , they make the characters
more human , they have feeling , they have weaknesses and craving.
It's true that, some money scenes are thrown in the way, just to remember the reader
that this is an adult comic but we also know why we're putting them there
(and don't get me wrong , I'm doing the same thing ^^)

Where is the name Dexa ranger coming from ?
I don't know why, and I hadn't re-read Shadow Ranger 7, but I had in mind Al was
the former ranger blue, not black ranger ?
I'm really curious to see Megan's final TF (because I like that ^^) but also because
I wanna know what's gonna happen to her, as she's not the queen anymore in Shadow Ranger,
and most likely, there's only a very short time, 5 year max, in between SR0 and Shadow Ranger.
I have to say that I've been a bit worried when I saw the great commander of the Ranger
(professor White's friend/Mentor) sit in his chair like meditating and then get waken up by
his "daughter". It really made me think about Dinaranger , where the great leader of dinaranger
is actually the great zofa leader, with his daughter who is not his real daughter.
We already know that Bryan is B from Shadow Ranger, but Is W Professor White from SR0 ?
I would say yes definitely, but I'll leave you guys the hurdle to answer ^^
Something I would really like to see explained, is the Dark Emperor/Kingdom reference ?
Semantically, it's more of a term/name you would use for an heroic fantasy villain,
but so far, you guys try to make us believe that the dark emperor would be some kind of
parasite who came through some sort of space portal
(well done by the way for the explanation of the connection to the elven forest
in a rather technologically advanced world)
My little theory is, I rather believe the dark emperor will be somebody we already know,
it's cliche but it makes it so much more dramatic ^^
I have some theory on his identity that I won't reveal, as I don't want G9 and Mp to feel
embarrased to answer, if I ever am correct (and of course it leaves room to pretend I was
right even if I was not gnark gnark gnark)
AAlllllllll of this to say...that this was a very very good job , a fine piece of art
which will, I'm sure, be used as role model by a lot of other artists.
My last words will be Thank you G9, Thank you Mp for all of your hard work,
and believe me, I know excactly all the hours behind this masterpiece.

What happened to the size of the text is both a mystery and a sloppy mistake. I work with the true size of the pages, so I never realized how the downsizing of e-hentai would make the text so hard to read. Don't know why this differs so much from the other comics.
Professor White is indeed W. Hey, I had promised W's many fans that he would make a glorious appearance in this comic, right? ^^
It's funny how you make a reference to Dinarangers because that was indeed inspiration for me for this comic. Not for the role of Kyle, though, but for Lin. It reminds me a lot of the suspense in the later Dinarangers chapters where there are infected people serving as traitors within the base. So I tried to recreate that suspense with the orders that infected Lin is given.
As for Al, you are completely correct, that is a continuity mistake we only noticed around Christmas or so, aka way too late to change. Let's just write this off as taking a few liberties with the older works.
Of course the rest of the puzzle concerning the Dark Emperor/Kingdom will be completed in the second half of this story, but there is a lot to conclude on your own by checking older comics such as Gaia 4.
The yuri scene with Gina and Risa is likely what everyone is referring to when they mention the unnecessary scenes. In that regard, it's very similar to the scene with Carla's family in your own Fallen Star: a scene that led to many different opinions (many even negative), but you had ulterior motives for that scene (pushing Starlight).
It's the same for our yuri scene where we wanted to give Gina some personal "business" with Megan, while also building her character. She is quite the unpleasant woman in the rest of the comic so we wanted to show a different side of her (though it was fitting to make her the "top" in their relationship).

I completely no idea how the text become so little after I upload it to g.e, honestly.
I've sent so many pages to mp to be fixed, and we have no problems what so ever, the texts was readable.
I'm so sorry about this problems, I'll try to fix this in future release.

DeleteG9 burned himself out completely the past 6 months by spending just about all of his available time on the comic, trying to catch up to the "deadline" that we had foolishly made for ourselves and announced. That has proved to be too stressful and we won't make that mistake again. (Het got sick multiple times during the making just from overdoing it and taking too little rest.)
He seriously needed a big long break and that is what he is taking now.
This also means that work on the next comic will be postponed.
It is unfortunate, but there really was no other way.
