G9, your art is getting more and more refined! I have been following you since SR days and see how your art grew, especially with the advancements in rendering technology. Your skills and storytelling has improved so much and I am so thankful to be able to read your comics.
Really hoping to see the ending of GAIA soon, although I know it will be years away! :3
Indeed. The most recent version of the comic that I have has 45 pages and contains only the earlier stages and the setting up of a story. There is a still a lot more to come and it's pretty unlikely that it'll get to a completion in 2021.
As an answer to the questions some of you ask about an estimated release date, here is what I wrote on Pixiv earlier today when I uploaded the newest pictures over there:
This comic has now been in development for almost a full year. Definitely a much longer time than anticipated, and it's still nowhere close to completion. So what has been keeping us back? Well, it's already "version C" of the comic. More than 1500 pictures have already been made, but it took us a long time to find the right direction for the story. We'll take the best parts from "versions A and B" while dropping the storylines that didn't work out or made the story too complex for its own good. Hopefully we're now done with redoing the earlier pages, so that we can finally go full speed to the middle and end parts. Then we can also get a much better idea of how big it's going to be and when we expect to be finished with the comic.
Please take your time and make the best stories！Another question, do you have some plan about the deleted scenes？Maybe you can release them as side stories like “ooooops！”.
It would most definitely be! ...But I said 1500 pictures, not pages. ;)
As for releasing the deleted scenes at some point, we'll first have to see how many of those pages/pictures will not end up in the actual comic to judge if it's relevant to release them later, but it's a good idea to keep in mind.
I know it's certainly not my place to tell G9 or mp what to do or which story they should be prioritising but I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand I am excited for Dairenger. On the other, knowing that Dairenger will turn out to be a time-consuming exercise at producing a large story instead of a small project makes me anxious because it will invariably push back the other ongoing stories.
I am imagining that perhaps we will not see GAIA 7 for another 5 years or so T-T if we are lucky. Having followed G9 since the beginning this is a little scary because we know of the incident of corrupted data, models etc requiring him to almost start from scratch. Hopefully this will not come to pass again and we will see the completed GAIA project sooner rather than later ><
Big fan of your work nevertheless~ the renders look amazing and it's heartening to see how far G9's art has come.
Thanks for your words and for your concern. I cannot be naive and claim outright that what you fear is farfetched. The past many years have proven that an optimistic dream of producing new comics regularly wasn't realistic, no matter how much G9 and I would tell each other that it'll all go better "the next time". Daireiger wasn't planned. G9 created it on a whim when he went through the most difficult and taxing of times, finding relief in a pet project that aims to be a story that he always wanted to make, something that made him create comics in the first place. Just for that reason alone, I don't regret that this comic now is being prioritized at the cost of main projects. Sure, in true G9MP tradition, it turns out to be taking much longer than anticipated. In hindsight, one could claim that it's just another year wasted where we added another "+1" to the "years passed after GAIA 6 counter". But that's not a fair way to look at it. He is just one simple hobbyist with precious little spare time who is now having fun making a comic that resonates with him the most.
Does that mean that anyone who'd rather see him work on something else is wrong or shouldn't be allowed to voice that concern? Of course not. I totally get your reasoning, and I'm sure G9 does too. But it doesn't mean that G9 should stop doing what we wants to do, even if a majority of the fans would vote for a different comic.
There is no real solution to this. It's all he can do with his limited available time.
looks like its the pink ranger compared the two models her hair mesh is different but the face is the same I like where g9 is going with the old man will he get lucky and get all 3?? heres to hoping but looks like he gets a crack first at the commander girl with the glasses then pink ranger through his promotional pics can be seen in capsule being programmed and then Old Mad Scientist is monitoring her through his surveillence so it seems like g9 is following zerion story a bit and having the crazed mad scientist get the main girl type of bad end; i luv it ; so we know theres actually 4 girls in this bit the Pink and Blue ranger , Commander girl with glasses and theres the pink haired girl we see fat yellow ranger have sex with in the promotional art only problem is theres at least 2 other baddies so who gets who ?? I hope we can all be satisfied want to see Pink ranger get it on with mad scientist hopefully there will be commission for the future this looks like its going to be epic

The girl with long pink or purple hair 5. The short hair girl in the last picture, with dark pattern around her eyes which perhaps indicates her corrupting process has already begun. But who’s the naked girl lying down kissing the old fat scientist? Is she the short hair girl in the last picture? And who’s the bride?
I'd say your calculations are greatly overestimating how far the comic is done. It's still too early for G9 and me to estimate with more precision how big the entire thing is going to be, but I would say we're not even halfway.
I am glad to see regular updates from G9 on this. Any ETA for it, it's been awhile since the last comic D:

Right now I've finished about 200 pages in total. 150 pages are mostly solid, just need dialogues check. Looking at the the whole story, it'll be around 250-300 pages long. So I can't set any ETA yet.
Nice work, G9! 200 pages done, which means there are around 50~100 pages to go. If everything's fine, we'll be meeting this fantastic work in 2~3 months, I assume?
If G9 is able to keep working on the comic at his current pace, that should be a realistic timeframe. However, NEVER take my predictions for granted. I've been wrong many times before.
Im Particularly Interested In Picture 32 ..... It Seems To Promise A Reluctant Heroine About To Be Corrupted/ Taken Over By A Las Plagas Type Parasite.....please Let it be so
