Kate is the second Shadow Ranger to appear in the comics.

In Shadow Ranger
After the corruption of Amy in Shadow Ranger 3, Kate attempts to rescue her but is lured into a trap by Alastair.
The other Rangers arrive and stop Al from kidnapping her. Despite their efforts, Kate is still affected by the ordeal, being put to sleep and possibly hypnotized by Al.
When she wakes up in the Rangers HQ, Ken (Shadow Ranger Red and Kate's boyfriend) is with her and they kiss.
Jason (Shadow Ranger Black and Kate's childhood friend) witnesses this and Alastair makes use of Jason's own feelings for Kate, tricking him into administering a drug to her that supposedly prevents her from becoming a horny sex addict. Of course, it's all a lie and the potion has the opposite effect.
As Kate becomes incredibly aroused because of the potion, Al manages to coerce her into having more and more sex with him.
She slowly develops a dependance and it starts creeping up into her work. Lisa (Shadow Ranger White and team leader) kicks her out of the team with the intention of saving her from being exposed to more danger, but it turns out to be the final disgrace needed to break Kate's psyche as Al uses an amulet infused with the Dark Emperor's power to finally turn her.
In chapter 6, we see Kate team up with Amy to capture Jane (Shadow Ranger Blue). Later, after she fights and loses to the combined efforts of Lisa and Ken, she's taken back to the Shadow Rangers HQ so that they can try to heal her from her corrupted state.
In chapter 7, we learn that Kate's defeat and return to the headquarters was in fact
all part of the Dark Emperor's plan: a bigger and coordinated attack on the Shadow Rangers' base of operations. We see her team up with the newly corrupted Jane while they rampage through the base.
Afterwards, she is with the two other transformed rangers, Jane and Amy, while they team up to sexually torture and prepare (through various lesbian actions) the captured White Ranger, Lisa, for corruption.
Kate's final appearance is during Ken's last desperate attempt to defeat the Dark Emperor and save Lisa. Kate meets him and teases him, pointing out that he prefers to save the leader of the Shadow Ranger rather than his own girlfriend.
In Gaia Ranger
She appears in Gaia 2, interrupting some sexy time between the Dark Emperor and both Jane and Amy, to announce the arrival of the soon to be corrupted Emma (Gaia Ranger Yellow).
She also appears in Gaia 3, this time being the focus of the Dark Emperor's desires herself.
In Gaia 5, she teams up with Jane again during the attack on the Gaia Rangers headquarters. They seem to have developed some competitive spirit.
We see her accompanying Jane as she manipulates Hiro (the scientist in charge of reversing the effect of Emma's transformation), a hesitant traitor to the rangers' cause in the hope of obtaining Sophie (Gaia Ranger Blue) for himself.
They both keep causing havoc and destruction until they face the new rangers in combat. Kate herself faces off against Mei (Gaia Ranger Black), who she ends up violently defeating.
In Shadow Ranger 0
In this prequel to the Shadow Ranger series, she makes an appearance with the other future Shadow Rangers as they enter the facility to begin their training. She's already shown having playful banter with Jane.

It's not so easy to capture the character's "essence" in only a few words, but I think the final result is pretty good.
I'll start writing Jane's entry pretty soon ;-)
Careful not to burn yourself out, revisiting the same SR comics over and over again, describing the events a tad bit different each time from a different viewpoint.

DeleteThat thumbnail picture is an attempt to remake the "old" Kate with newer software. As we're all aware, the old model was lost in the hard drive crash. Nevertheless, I agree that G9 did a good job recreating her older look.
The thumbnail? The one on the wiki page? That was the old model picture. I find it on the blog. The first pic on this page is the "new-old" model. >_<
