It's so weird how a site that is supposed to be a den of like-minded people have such a limited take on the fetish. How is it possible that they're all writing more or less the same kind of stories again and again and again?
What they're making is not bad at all, but it's such a shame that there is so extremely little variation.
Yes there aren't much good on Mccomix sadly. The only reason i'm there is firstborns two series. The other stuff is, more or less, the same robotic and giant boobs. It's really sad.
DeleteIt's because my association with MC Comix is strictly one of convenience, a venue to tell the kind of comic you guys and Shinra are masters of. But thematic monotony is not just a comic phenomenom. When I wrote my first movie, "Electra" in 1996, the producers were befuddled by the material. They were expecting an erotic thriller for their star, Shannon Tweed, like the 50 others she'd already made. Instead I gave them a sci-fi/comic book/MC/corruption action picture with incest. They made it anyway, Roger Corman distributed it, and it became a cult hit. You'd think they would have followed it up with a similar work, but no, it was right back to dull "Basic Instinct" ripoffs till the "B" market utterly collapsed. Why creators with limitless possibilities, and to a large extent the audience that sustains them, remain in one box has always been a mystery to me. It's another reason I was delighted to discover you guys and your fans.

DeleteIf you're skilled at telling one particular kind of story and it is an success with your audience (which also means a financial success), then why would you delve into the unknown and give your loyal audience something that they're not expecting and possibly not wanting?
I think it's easier for a new player to enter the market with a fresh idea than it is for an existing player to try something different.
G9comics and H3Ncomics are not bound by financial shackles so we have the luxury of making what we want without worrying about financial consequences.
If Basic Instinct clones earned them money, then you can't blame them for making the choice to stay on the safe side.
It's always sad to see creativity go to waste, but when you try to explain everything with money in mind, everything becomes so much more logical. >_>
Every companies want to make money. So, they will make the product that they think will generate the most money.

Well MCC is the platform that tries to make money on the work of individuals. Sadly, to many of the individuals that makes the content, seem to use the same formula over and over again. That is something that is happening all over, with videogames, movies and other form of entertainment.
DeleteYes, while sad, it is not at all uncommon. And while it works in movies and games, most of the time, it does not, and should not, work with our fetishes, where great deal if imagination and inventive behaviour must apply. I understand each artist creates what he/she finds appealing. But I liked the old HIPcomix as a multi-fetish platform with great deal of diversity in both niches and style. Now we have HIP and MCC and Metrobay and What's-its-name-bondage clone of HIP and everything is comminuted into nothingness.

I don't know if i agree with you that it works in movies, series and games. It works some times. But for most parts it gets repetitive and bland.
DeleteBut i do agree that Shinra and G9 is the only fresh thing on the menu and they both show tendencies to come up with new ideas. But i think it is important for us, who do like their work, to point out when we see flaws or to much of the same in their stories. Just so they dont walk into the same trap of using the same ovr and over again.
And maybe we who are fans should try not just to enjoy Shinras and G9:s work, but also contribute our self. As soon as i have time for it i will try to learn DAZ3D. Maybe not to create stories like G9 and co. But at least keep the community alive and flourishing.
