Normally, I'd love to let everyone come up with wild theories based on the pictures but let me remind you guys of one fact from Gaia 5: the Dark Emperor didn't know who Laura was. ^_~

I Think the dark Emperor is the man an the first Picture! First: the dark Emperor has elf ears the Body of both persons has a lot of the same thing. Just look his body, and how he stand! He could be acting in G5 that he did not know her! because of lucian!!!:)
It is interesting that she has on the Picture all the Butterfly around her And in G5 she has something like a Butterfly caterpillar around her. Maybe in the Future The dark Emperor showing her who he is and tf her and into the new queen (Butterfly queen) and together she are fighting against lucian would be a intresante story! intresante is, that in G5 the dark Emperor is thinking for the first time ""what" am I ? " p.46 it could be a indiz :) But I'm just guessing ;-)
The whole "What am I" was (supposed to be) a little joke. In the previous picture, Laura asked "What are you?" instead of "Who are you?" so the Emperor's pride was hurt about being called a "what".
And guessing is fine. So far, you're on a roll as far as creativity goes! >_<
@Mp xD I went back and read that part in Gaia V, again. Haven't noticed it before, but i see some of the old goofiness from the emperor that we saw in G9:s earlier works.
Wow what an update. What I think I appreciate more than anything is the fact that this form of mind control is very different and very erotic as well. It combines new approaches such as the sci fi creature theme but also adds a nice touch with her stripping for him and being helpless to him. Basically, being subdued in a manner that is passive and welcoming rather than frightful and struggle. It is just different from the normal things we see, and thus I like where this is going. Even the eye work has promise and it really shows a lot of hype for what is sure to be an interesting peril scene.

Yeah, we try something different here, so it'll feel more "fresh" not just repetition, and yet, we try to put a better story line too, since this part hold the "important" part of the whole series universe and story. So, yes, it would be a very hard work to do, need more time to finish. But I hope it'll bring SR& Gaia story to the next level. ^_^ hopefully we don't bring mess to the series >_<
A fetish scene is a fetish scene, and they act like a picture in a book. It should convey its own story as well as following the theme of the whole. So in other words, try new things with the fetishes and apply them to the world. You should work outside the box as well as inside the space around the box. I think it will work good, but I am going to reserve judgment till the entire scene is shown. I think you should keep it though. It works already to draw us in, and that is important.

That is correct. We'll probably not even see the Shadow Ranger girls at all, despite the "Shadow Ranger" in the title. It is confusing, but it is just meant to indicate that chronologically, these events occur before Shadow Rangers 1.
What we'll be telling here has more importance to the Gaia story than to the Shadow story. That's why we're making this comic now, right in the middle of the epic chapters of the Gaia story. So we can fully justify doing SR0 instead of Gaia6.

Nope, this is not correct. What we meant was that we kept on giving some updates about both comics at the same time, which is what we did: new pictures were given for both this comic and for Gaia 6.
But for now, we're 100% working on SR0 only. Past experience tells us that we generally need about 2 or 2.5 months to make a comic, so we may have SR0 ready in late october or early november, but that is a very rough estimate that shouldn't be trusted at all. And going along with these rough plans ahead, it turns out it's likely that we can't finish Gaia 6 in 2013 after all. Miracles exist, but it's safer to say that we'll need the january month as well.
and the SR0 has maybe 2 Chapter, but Gaia has only 2 Chapter and then is finished the story! Ps. The Girl in Gaia 5 P. 110 will wie she her again in SR0 or in Gaia 6/7?
The girl (Annie) was meant as just a cameo appearance to give Al some work to do. It's possible she'll return in Gaia 6 or 7, but she definitely won't be in SR0.
Looks like even more hypnosis to me. I do believe that it's being kind of overused lately in G9's. I hope it's good. After all, it looks good. But I don't expect much. Maybe G9 could learn a bit from the comics in H3ncomics. In those the heroines are conscious when transformed.
I have to agree. Hypnosis is the laziest way of rendering the seduction/corruption. It's boring, always the same whoever the character is. What's the point of creating a story if the characters are "seduced" in a generic mind control scene ? I think it's a shame. No offence G9.
Now that the dust has settled on Shinra's blog and the new Fallen Star has been released in all its glory, let's focus on this blog and our stories again.
Guys, please understand G9comics and H3Ncomics both have a different style and use different themes. We don't want to steal Shinra's style because it belongs to him. We cannot suddenly use his style and expect it to work as well as in his own comics.
In our stories, the Dark Emperor is the main man, the biggest evil. He is the one doing the corruptions. And unlike in Shinra's comics, the corrupted people in our comics hardly get any new special powers at all. So we cannot even use the whole "corrupt another" theme that Shinra uses so successfully.
I do not agree that we're using nothing but hypnosis and that it results in lazy, boring scenes, nor do I agree that you can reach the conclusion that it'll be the same in SR0 just after seeing these teaser screenshots (you don't seriously think we're giving away a main scene just like that, do you?)
We're happy to be making the stories that we want to make. We're also happy that Shinra is so successful in making stories with a much darker theme. That way, there is something for everyone. I hope you agree.
Totally agree with u Mp except for the point that corrupted people dun get new powers. With so many different animal or plant themes or so it would be difficult to not give the corrupted new powers. But totally there with u regarding G9 and shinra needing different themes. In fact I prefer G9's theme a whole lot as shinra's is a little too hardcore and dark e.g: corrupting the mother =.= G9 please do not change your theme as I find it much more erotic and sexy even if it's hypnosis. And I disagree that all of G9's techniques are hypnosis. I don't get how the smoking part for Pink is hypnosis it's more like using a friend to blackmail to eventually becoming addiction. Moreover it is extremely shallow to think that hypnosis is a lazy method of brainwash and corruption as you are not the author and you do not know how much work is being put in to make the hypnosis believable and realistic while keeping it attractive. In fact I feel that hypnosis is extremely difficult to make it work and G9 does it brilliantly so I would be glad to see g9 use it again. Keep up the good work G9 and Mp looking forward to your next installation... soon? haha

I mean, if we would show off with all sorts of interesting new powers, we would need people to use them on. It wouldn't fit the current story at all if we suddenly introduce a whole bunch of new characters specifically made for that purpose. It can work, but then we would have needed to plan ahead and design the whole story to be bigger. Shinra has done that, we didn't. That's why I feel it's no use to give corrupted Rangers too many superpowers.
Jane has some powers, but they're nowhere on the same scale as the powers of the Dark Emperor. All she can do are succubus-type of pranks like mild hypnosis by letting the sexual lust take over the mind.
It's on a whole different level than what Shinra does by, for example, giving a completely normal human being like Carla powerful corrupting powers of her own that can turn even her own mother in a demon who, in turn, also has special powers. It works great in Shinra's story because it is designed that way, but it has no place in the G9 Rangers stories. The Dark Emperor is the only one doing the corruptions. His growing army of minions assist him by capturing new victims in whatever way, but not by corrupting them or transforming them on their own. Of course, Lucian would like to change all that, but he can't do that with his half-assed powers.
I have no difficulty to understand that what Shinra does in his stories could be considered more spectacular. So I have no trouble when people ask us or tell us to be more like Shinra. After all, they do that with the best intentions in mind: they would like us to be even better than how they consider us currently.
But regardless, we all do it for fun. We're making the type of stories that we like to make, that we're good at, and that we're comfortable with. That's true for both G9comics and H3Ncomics. No need to copy each other or trying to be like each other: we get the best results when we stick to our own style.
Oh because I was looking forward to seeing how the different corrupted rangers in action haha. But since I think the 3 captured rangers will not be corrupted together perhaps they can aid in the corruption process (e.g: Mimi using spider venom or webs? Or maybe if plants are involved plant toxins?)
I don't know if this is how the storyline would work out but the corrupted rangers can show off some of their themes and powers towards the end of the series perhaps on the soldiers of Gaia to eradicate Gaia aka cannon fodder once and for all haha. Well G9 has come a long way from shadow rangers to giving his rangers specific moves (e.g: blossom sword) so it's never wrong to hope eh! :D
Oh, don't worry: they definitely do have special powers. (Just think of Emma's snake and her energy draining bite.) I just meant that they don't have special powers that cause permanent corruption or transformation on their own. Never say never, but I don't see it happen in the current series. Though it remains a possibility to put something like you mentioned at the very end after giving the corrupted victims some sort of power increase or progressed transformation. But one would at least need both elf fragments for that... (^Just imagining things on the spot here. Not spoiling anything or making false promises.)
I never said I wanted more people to corrupt other. I'm perfectly fine with the emperor being the main evil here if it's the take of G9 on his comics. It's even better as I know who to root for. I don't want G9 to do the same thing as Shinra either. I just hope that he will ease up on the hypnosis because he hasn't always used it and it was better when a bit of mind twist and character development was involved in the process (White Shadow ranger everyone !) Now the characters look better, their past more developped but they don't say a word and stare blankly when corrupted: it's a shame !!
What do you exactly mean with "now"? You make it seem as it this has become a new habit, a new trick that we keep on going back to, but I cannot find myself agreeing with what you're "accusing" us of.
The last comic we made was Filthy Fantasy. That one doesn't count because it was always intended to be more softcore with mind control elements that were easy to recognize and would appeal also to people who do not particularly care about hardcore corruption.
The comic before that was Gaia 5. We see hypnosis-like powers being used on Cindy and Laura, but that is because it was Lucian who did it. Lucian who wants to be more powerful than he currently is. We see Jane use her powers, but they are even weaker. You could say that that guy in the control room (Joe) is an example of the blank-stare-not-speaking treatment you mention, but I doubt you had him in mind when you made your statement. Just an unimportant side characterwhose sexual urges exploded when that red-haired girl offered herself to him. Granted, Laura was meanwhile getting her treatment from the emperor. For story purposes, this happened off-screen to make her appearance more dramatic. I would be willing to accept your disappointment in that particular choice.
Before Gaia 5, what did we make again? Succubus? That was a commission comic. Not much room to do something really special in that small story.
Before that? PGS of which we have still made only 1 issue. I would say it's too soon to pass your judgment on that title as the story has only just begun.
Before that came Gaia 4, more than a year ago already. That was the Mimi issue. Well, you can say whatever you wish about what you thought of the cigarettes, but not that it was an example of the blank-stare-no-talking.
There, I quickly reviewed all of the comics of the past 12 months. Not because I'm bull-headed and insist on proving our "innocence", but because I honestly have no idea what you're referring to with your criticism.
Well exactly what you said :| It has been a bit disapointing lately on the corruption itself, because of circonstances as you mentionned, but still I wanted to point that out. I thought you didn't get my point so I've been a bit insistant I guess, sorry. As I said those scenes have felt rushed lately and if we add all the comics you mentionned it adds up to more than a year long as you said ! Concerning the cigarette it's not a problem of no talking/ blank stare, true. But I was also confused because I didn't understand at all what was going on and quite honestly I don't think it made any sense.
To conclude, when you annonced you would help G9 with the spelling of his comics I was very happy because it meant that he would express better the feelings of the heroines and we would understand better their state of mind, the ordeals they are put through...and since then, I'd put it around Gaia 3*, I didn't feel like we got any corruption as good as the previous ones in the "concept" part.
I don't want to troll or anything and I get the feeling I'm making you quite worked up so maybe I'll stop commenting. But hey, at least I hope you understand a little better what I meant (or not) ; )
* I say Gaia 3 because I really enjoyed Emma's corruption (even though I'd have liked it if it was by the same person all along, it would have been more consistent I think).

I welcome discussions. I welcome the opportunity this blog gives us to discuss our favorite kind of comics. We do not have the illusion that everything we make is constantly pleasing our readers 100% of the time. G9 likes to experiment with his comics (as is obvious with the Tifa comic), which means we change the style and the feeling of our works every now and then.
For anyone who is only looking for comics with a very heavy focus on hardcore corruption, this means that there will be times when you're left with a "meh" feeling. As mentioned before, we too are very happy that Shinra is so successful with his darker themed comics, so that a broader range of the theme (and the fetish) is covered and there is more for everyone.
Does this mean we have given up on the darker theme? No, I wouldn't go that far. But I can tell you (and whoever else is reading this) that the style we currently use in Gaia, is what G9 really wants to do. We are now making the comics he wants to make. He started with Shadow Rangers, developing his skills, experimenting with everything. But now in Gaia, he has really discovered his preferred style.
I realize it must sound a bit weird that I'm the one each time who is voicing G9's thoughts. This too can only fuel the suspicions that I'm "taking over" the comics or at the very least influencing the style. Again (I've explained it before), that's not the case at all. I go along with whatever G9 decides, correcting his grammar each step of the way. ^^ It's pretty embarrassing to talk about him on his own blog like this, so I'll keep it as limited as possible: -He is bad with pressure. -He wants to please everyone as much as possible. -He has a very busy life.
Comic making is a hobby. It should remain a hobby. We have no intentions to go professional: it won't become "work". Work = pressure People pushing him to go in another direction than intended becomes pressure because he would like, more than anyone, to give everyone the comic they were waiting for, yet he finds himself doing something (with his very limited spare time) that he doesn't truly agree on. The result is that it feels like work instead of hobby, and that doesn't improve his motivation because it becomes pressure.
This is all I'm going to say about this. It's embarrassing enough as it is.
tl;dr Just let us do what we do best (Not talking to you specifically, Marluigi) and you get the best comics we can give you.
The above story does not mean that we don't welcome suggestions, because we do. But sometimes, mere suggestions turn into more forceful pushes ("next time, do it like this and this or I'll give up on you") and we could do without those.
Questioning posts are not the same as trolling posts, so don't worry about it.

But regardless, we all do it for fun. We're making the type of stories that we like to make, that we're good at, and that we're comfortable with. That's true for both G9comics and H3Ncomics.
No need to copy each other or trying to be like each other: we get the best results when we stick to our own style.
Oh because I was looking forward to seeing how the different corrupted rangers in action haha. But since I think the 3 captured rangers will not be corrupted together perhaps they can aid in the corruption process (e.g: Mimi using spider venom or webs? Or maybe if plants are involved plant toxins?)
ReplyDeleteI don't know if this is how the storyline would work out but the corrupted rangers can show off some of their themes and powers towards the end of the series perhaps on the soldiers of Gaia to eradicate Gaia aka cannon fodder once and for all haha. Well G9 has come a long way from shadow rangers to giving his rangers specific moves (e.g: blossom sword) so it's never wrong to hope eh! :D
Oh, don't worry: they definitely do have special powers. (Just think of Emma's snake and her energy draining bite.) I just meant that they don't have special powers that cause permanent corruption or transformation on their own.

Though it remains a possibility to put something like you mentioned at the very end after giving the corrupted victims some sort of power increase or progressed transformation. But one would at least need both elf fragments for that...

I never said I wanted more people to corrupt other. I'm perfectly fine with the emperor being the main evil here if it's the take of G9 on his comics. It's even better as I know who to root for. I don't want G9 to do the same thing as Shinra either. I just hope that he will ease up on the hypnosis because he hasn't always used it and it was better when a bit of mind twist and character development was involved in the process (White Shadow ranger everyone !) Now the characters look better, their past more developped but they don't say a word and stare blankly when corrupted: it's a shame !!

DeleteYou make it seem as it this has become a new habit, a new trick that we keep on going back to, but I cannot find myself agreeing with what you're "accusing" us of.
The last comic we made was Filthy Fantasy. That one doesn't count because it was always intended to be more softcore with mind control elements that were easy to recognize and would appeal also to people who do not particularly care about hardcore corruption.
The comic before that was Gaia 5. We see hypnosis-like powers being used on Cindy and Laura, but that is because it was Lucian who did it. Lucian who wants to be more powerful than he currently is.
We see Jane use her powers, but they are even weaker.
You could say that that guy in the control room (Joe) is an example of the blank-stare-not-speaking treatment you mention, but I doubt you had him in mind when you made your statement. Just an unimportant side characterwhose sexual urges exploded when that red-haired girl offered herself to him.
Granted, Laura was meanwhile getting her treatment from the emperor.
For story purposes, this happened off-screen to make her appearance more dramatic. I would be willing to accept your disappointment in that particular choice.
Before Gaia 5, what did we make again? Succubus?
That was a commission comic. Not much room to do something really special in that small story.
Before that? PGS of which we have still made only 1 issue. I would say it's too soon to pass your judgment on that title as the story has only just begun.
Before that came Gaia 4, more than a year ago already. That was the Mimi issue. Well, you can say whatever you wish about what you thought of the cigarettes, but not that it was an example of the blank-stare-no-talking.
There, I quickly reviewed all of the comics of the past 12 months.

As I said those scenes have felt rushed lately and if we add all the comics you mentionned it adds up to more than a year long as you said !
Concerning the cigarette it's not a problem of no talking/ blank stare, true. But I was also confused because I didn't understand at all what was going on and quite honestly I don't think it made any sense.
To conclude, when you annonced you would help G9 with the spelling of his comics I was very happy because it meant that he would express better the feelings of the heroines and we would understand better their state of mind, the ordeals they are put through...and since then, I'd put it around Gaia 3*, I didn't feel like we got any corruption as good as the previous ones in the "concept" part.
I don't want to troll or anything and I get the feeling I'm making you quite worked up so maybe I'll stop commenting. But hey, at least I hope you understand a little better what I meant (or not)

I welcome discussions. I welcome the opportunity this blog gives us to discuss our favorite kind of comics.
We do not have the illusion that everything we make is constantly pleasing our readers 100% of the time. G9 likes to experiment with his comics (as is obvious with the Tifa comic), which means we change the style and the feeling of our works every now and then.
For anyone who is only looking for comics with a very heavy focus on hardcore corruption, this means that there will be times when you're left with a "meh" feeling.
As mentioned before, we too are very happy that Shinra is so successful with his darker themed comics, so that a broader range of the theme (and the fetish) is covered and there is more for everyone.
Does this mean we have given up on the darker theme? No, I wouldn't go that far.
But I can tell you (and whoever else is reading this) that the style we currently use in Gaia, is what G9 really wants to do.
We are now making the comics he wants to make.
He started with Shadow Rangers, developing his skills, experimenting with everything. But now in Gaia, he has really discovered his preferred style.
I realize it must sound a bit weird that I'm the one each time who is voicing G9's thoughts. This too can only fuel the suspicions that I'm "taking over" the comics or at the very least influencing the style.
Again (I've explained it before), that's not the case at all.
I go along with whatever G9 decides, correcting his grammar each step of the way. ^^
It's pretty embarrassing to talk about him on his own blog like this, so I'll keep it as limited as possible:
-He is bad with pressure.
-He wants to please everyone as much as possible.
-He has a very busy life.
Comic making is a hobby. It should remain a hobby. We have no intentions to go professional: it won't become "work".
Work = pressure
People pushing him to go in another direction than intended becomes pressure because he would like, more than anyone, to give everyone the comic they were waiting for, yet he finds himself doing something (with his very limited spare time) that he doesn't truly agree on.
The result is that it feels like work instead of hobby, and that doesn't improve his motivation because it becomes pressure.
This is all I'm going to say about this. It's embarrassing enough as it is.
tl;dr
Just let us do what we do best (Not talking to you specifically, Marluigi) and you get the best comics we can give you.
The above story does not mean that we don't welcome suggestions, because we do.
But sometimes, mere suggestions turn into more forceful pushes ("next time, do it like this and this or I'll give up on you") and we could do without those.
Questioning posts are not the same as trolling posts, so don't worry about it.
And of course you enjoyed Emma's corruption because Emma is hot! ;P
