A happy end seems unlikely for our favorite Gaia ladies, but I must admit I'm not completely against a happy ending in these kinds of comics. Where a happy end is the cliche way to go in regular stories, it's actually the opposite in these kind of corruption stories. So as long as the happy end doesn't feel completely out of place and forced into the story, I don't see why a happy end is a "no-no". (Also really helps in making direct sequels. That's kinda hard with no good guys around anymore. ^^)
i dunno, i think most mind control stories end with the girls normal again! its really really hard to find ones that end like these!! the only other one i can think of is akonkid's League of Liberty Vanishing Act which has an awesome bad ending but not many others! (although if u know of others, point me in the direction!!)

About Happy and Bad ending. Actually it depends, I don't like the term happy or bitter end. I prefer good or "bad" ending. Just look at Titanic for example. If in the end both Jack and Rose were survived, that would be a cliche, won't be a good movie I think. Or Aerith on FF VII, if cloud can bring back her to life, FFVII won't be as fenomenal as now. So both bitter ends, actually a good ending. But lots movies like disney's movies. Can you imagine if in the end snow white was dead because of the apple? That would be terrible. Or even corrupted, and become the next evil queen (wow...if that happened, I'll buy the blu-ray ^_^) Or Cinderella was locked up for her entire life by her step mother and commit suicide? That would ruin the whole story.
So it depends.
About our comics, we know what we want right? For all non japanese manga readers, bad ends would be really hard to find. But just like mpgrey said, there are TONS of BAD ENDS doujinshi out there. Every corruption/mind breaks would end with a bitter bad ends. Every hentai movies/games with corruption theme, defintely have one ultimate bad end.
And that thing is my fav ^_^. It's hard to explain, but that's why I love the corruption theme comic/ movies/etc.
So in shadow rangers, for some of us, we are sure, all of the rangers would be corrupted, that's why I try to make the corruption scene as interesting as I could, and no, I'm not a king on this scenes, there are LOTS OF BETTER ARTIST out there. Seriously, what is different just the style, for me Mukai Masayoshi, is one of the best on the corruption/mind control scenes. You can look for it on g.e-hentai. And for mind break, my fav would be Chuuka Naruto.
About the stiff robotic poses, those are all styles. Some of them really like those robotic poses. We can't argue with that (even me, at first try to copy that, look at the first Shadow Ranger,first Amy pose of corruption, soooo robotic)
I think what sets G9's comics from the rest is the transformation element which is totally awesome. So after the rangers are transformed i dont think they should be reverted back to normal that is my take though...
I agree. That's what I like about these mind control/corruption comics from others where they always seem to reset so the heroines eventually always seem to wind up ok. That's not realistic. Neither is every heroine losing in every story. I like it more along the lines of what you see in a horror film in that you know most of the characters are going to die (in this case get corrupted) but you don't know which one will be the lone survivor. So mix it up but don't always have the heros come out in the end.
Reset the character would be bad, just like nothing has happened, but if the "reset" is part of the story, sometime it's very interesting. Take example, shinra's fallen star has a scene where the character has a "reset" scene. That is awesome. And if you play some games. Maika's 超光 戰隊 series. The first series has the best "reset" scene ever, my fav.
I concurr the "reset" button is a great story tool it gives the writer many avenues and the readers are left with a imagination blast. That's what's so great about the comic world giving use tie ins , one shots , and cross overs. And just like in Fallen star once corrupted you never really get away. Q the evil laugh)
